Lanette James has served as the Kids' Minister at FBC Farmersville since 2021.  In addition to serving at FBCF, Lanette has served in West Africa, South Carolina, Tyler, TX, and Portland, Oregon.  During these times, God has allowed her to serve as a Kids Minister for over thirty years while serving short-term in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Liberia, Kenya, Uganda, Wyoming, and various other locations.  

Since high school, Lanette knew that God would use her in ministry. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from East Texas State University.  She went on to earn a master’s degree in special education from East Texas State and, after serving two years in West Africa with the International Mission Board, returned to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to earn a master’s degree in religious education.  She will graduate from Southwestern in December of 2023 with a Doctor of Education Degree.

Lanette lives with her dog Max and loves walking, baking, having people in her home, and using her gift of hospitality.  She loves kids and their families!
