Sunday Services Update!
We have altered our schedule for Sunday, December 8. Please see the amended schedule below:
||BREAKFAST in the gymnasium.
||WORSHIP in the gymnasium. Brother Bart will be wearing coveralls. That pretty much defines
a casual dress event.
||WORK in the community. We'll form teams and go out into the community to clean up fallen
PLEASE DO NOT COME if your roads are dangerous or if you aren't young, able-bodied, and in
good condition to help with the work. Let us serve you this time if any of these conditions would
make it difficult for you to attend tomorrow.
Do you know someone without electricity in Farmersville. We have electricity at FBC Farmersville
and are welcoming those without heat or without the ability to cook to come to the gymnasium. We are
serving meals in the gymnasium. The facilities are warm and comfortable. Those without heat
are welcome to spend the night. Just bring your linens and toiletries. Have a hot shower and a hot
breakfast, and maybe the electricity will be back on at your house soon.
We do ask you to use the south entrance to the gymnasium, which is unmarked. You can access that
entrance off of Farmersville Parkway. It is directly behind the garbage dumpsters. The steps are too
treacherous, though, for you to park on the street. Drive on up the gravel driveway and park as close
to the building as you can. The gravel isn't slippery at all.
Road conditions are not good in the Farmersville area, and they are likely to deteriorate further.
We encourage you, if you are planning to come here tonight, to come early while the sun is still up
and before the worst of the refreezing takes place.
A chainsaw team
from Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief is staying at FBC Farmersville to
assist with the cleanup operation in the aftermath of the Farmersville ice storm. If you or someone
you know has a need for this crew, please contact the church office and let us know. Priority will go
to widows, the elderly, then the poor, and so forth, but the team is willing to help anyone who needs
trees or tree branches cleared away.
The chainsaw team will take the more technically difficult cases, but there is a need for people to
assist in general cleanup. Most of our Sunday teams will do that kind of work, and not the removal of
trees off of houses or other dangerous work. A chainsaw will be helpful if you have one.
